That didn’t take long - Only 2.5 years
I got surprised by my AD today. Been a fairly long road to this moment and I feel lucky to be in a place in life where I can afford to purchase one of these Daytona’s and to have the relationship I have with my AD.
I knew this piece would be special when it was released in 2016 but I had been away from the watch collecting for a handful of years, sold all my pieces except for the Sub, and had kind of lost some of my status with my AD. Over the past few years, while I waited, they have been kind enough to offer me some nice pieces to add to my collection. Well today was the day, out of nowhere. I was in the store to purchase some earnings for my wife and out it came. They had just received it this week and we’re going to hold onto it until my birthday in Nov but with my wife in the store, having just purchased the earrings (small $ so not contingent for the Daytona) the timing was just right for a gift for me. The collection is fairly complete now. Time for a breather. Thanks to TRF for the laughs and for posting up your incomings that helped maintain hope! I thought I would break it in on a run with my dog.....and they forgot to remove one of the stickers. No worries. This one is not being flipped. Headed to my daughter after I’m gone.....
