I've been reading this forum daily since I purchased my 1997 Sub non-date a couple of months ago so I thought it's about time I introduced myself and started to contribute!
My name is Dan and I'm from the UK. I sold most of my mid - low range watches in order to buy the sub and now having taken the plunge I don't regret it for a moment! I purchased a non date purely because the lower price meant that I could still keep my cherished Breitling Chronomat GT. I still like the Breitling a lot but I can't seem to stop myself from putting the Rolex on my wrist every morning now! I love the iconic styling of the sub and the no nonsence toolish design. It's very comfortable to wear and suits both informal and formal occasions perfectly. My watch was serviced by Rolex in November 2007 and consistanly gains around 0.5 seconds a day which makes it by far the most accurate mechanical watch I've owned! I've never owned a Rolex before but I've been well and truely bitten by the bug now! I think this will be my only Rolex for a while unfortunatley but I may be tempted by a Tudor Chrono of some sort in the future. Anyway here's a few pics of my Sub (and 1 of my Chronomat). Thanks for looking. Dan |
