You seem to be under the impression that “mass produced” is synonymous with “ubquity”, and that’s not the case. If Rolex made 10 million BLROs every year but there were 100 trillion people on waitlists for it, would you still claim the watch isn’t mass produced simply because of it’s relative scarcity?

I understand that people often use the descriptor “mass produced” as a pejorative to deride the ubiquity of something; while mass production certainly makes ubiquity more achievable, it doesn’t guarantee it, as is obviously the case with popular Rolex watches discussed here.

I also stand by your assertion that BLROs are uncommon. Those watches also happen to be mass produced. If you really want to be “precious about the effective use of English”, you’ll need to use words and phrases as they’re truly defined.
