I wear all of my watches in regular rotation at work, and, in fact, want people to notice. I am in sales/consulting in a very commission-heavy industry. I work very hard for my money and want to inspire people around me. Not everyone cares about watches and I certainly don't rub my watches in their faces, but I don't hide them either. I am the boss of quite a few people and several of my top-billers earn more money than me and that's what I expect. Several of these guys (who make more money than me) seem to be really interested in luxury watches but lack a little confidence to pull the trigger. I am trying to encourage them to enjoy the money they earn.
Because I am in sales, I wear suits every day and generally feel my Rolex watches are a little too sport/casual for business meetings so generally rotate between my Patek, AP, and Vacheron for most days. The vintage Speedy goes on the wrist on Speedy Tuesdays and then my Sub-C or 16710 Pepsi gets the call on casual Fridays. Weekends are almost exclusively my Rolex beaters. I do hear a lot of my consultants worry about wearing nice clothes/watches in front of clients as they worry that the clients might think they are paying us too much money. But you make a lot of money because you are successful (the best). Clients want to pay for the best. I figure life is too short not to enjoy nice things. That's the incentive you have to work even harder.
