Datejust: brush links after a while

Hi everyone,

I think I'm going to buy my first Rolex (still have some saving to do...)

I'm interested in a Datejust; I don't particularly like the polished center links on new models. Would it make sense to wait for those links to be scratched (some months?) and then have them brushed? Or changing to brushed is something that should be done right away?
