Vacheron Overseas 47040 and service cost

Hi guys,

I just got my Overseas 47040 white dial (2nd gen) at the end of 2018 when travelling in Japan. The watch is 10-year old in as new condition, keeping +2 seconds every day. It's a bit expensive due to recent strong JPY, foreign transaction fee and credit card surcharge, but overall I am happy with it so far.

Considering many people talking about the expensive VC service cost, I sent an email to get complete service price in AUD and attached it below.

IMO the service cost (1100 AUD) is expensive but kind of reasonable compared with others, eg. Rolex. Of course, we can send the watch to watch dealers to do the service for around half price (500-700 AUD in Melbourne, Australia), but I guess that's off the topic.

We recommend that you bring your timepiece to your nearest authorized retailer, who will send it over to our Service Center, where our watchmakers will provide you with an estimate of time and cost.
