Anyone had this surprise on his/her watch?...
Hello everyone,
The other day was cleaning day for my watch and I decided to go the extra mile by removing the bracelet and making it look brand new. Although it’s a 1997 watch it is in very very good condition and I am pretty proud of it. I thought I was hallucinating when I saw some hieroglyph engraved inside the clasp!! My heart skipped when I managed to read what appears to be a hand written (engraved) random number. After thinking of multiple conspiracy theories I thought to myself that there was no way this number wasn’t link to something I could explain. I searched all the papers I had regarding the watch and there it was: The f***ing quote number for the last service I did in RSC. THE QUOTE NUMBER!! Why would someone do that??? It is not big nor visible (service was like 3 years ago and I saw it only now) but still why engrave it in the metal of my watch? Why not using a tag or a sticker?? This is the XXI century no?? At this day the only explanation I have is that a tag or a sticker can be removed and guess what this hieroglyph cannot. Maybe this is common and maybe all of you have the same thing but without being angry with the RSC I still find it a bit weird to proceed like this. In the end I was relieved to find it was related to something I could explain and not some voodoo magic I couldn’t explain. T PS: Sorry if I made some of you remove your watch out of stress to have a look. |
