How to wear watch with long sleeves?

I always wear watch which fits under the cuff and pretty much hides it unless I move my arm to see the time. But more and more I've been seeing everyone pretty much wears watch at the bottom of the wrist and even rolling up the sleeve a bit so that watch is visible all the time. I'm sure that's the point - to show your watch always but it never occurred to me.

So, how are we supposed to wear the watch? So if someone clicks a pic when you are standing still, is the watch needs to show or not?
