Funny to see this. I’m sitting on an Allegiant plane now. A brand new A319. All the planes are new now. My wife and I make flights between Florida and Canada about every other week. Most flights arrive early. Sometimes we take Air Canada or Westjet but they cost almost 3 times more. We don’t care about first class or a fancy lounge. We just feel blessed to live like we do. they fly a lot of 25+ year old planes. Im kind of a geek in that and when my mom flew them i looked up the airframe info. Plus i dont like planes that have had 5 or 6 different airlines who have owned them. Similar to cars, a one owner vehicle is almost always better maintained.

They have had several issues with emergency landings because they dont put enough fuel in the planes to handle even a reasonable amount of being in a holding pattern in order to keep costs down. They make me nervous.

If they are buying new planes now, thats an improvement. You are correct... looks like they retired their MD 80's. All 61 of them

Florida to canada for $120 is exceedingly cheap. You would pay more for gas in your car to get a fraction of that distance. Is it too cheap? IDK. What corners are being cut? There may not be a solid answer to that, but it does raise some questions.
