Datejust 16233 experts - info on date wheel?

Hi all,

I've started looking around for a five digit two-tone DJ and found several variations of the 16233 champagne dial variant. Now seeing that these were produced for decades I'm sure there were changes during the many years they were in production. I've seen some with off-white/golden date wheels and some with white ones. Were they produced with different colored date wheels. Golden or white? Or is it just the lighting and natural patina over time that causes them to appear that way on some watches?
Watch on the left = golden date wheel
Watch on the right = definitely white

Thanks in advance.
