Thinking about a Polar Explorer II- HELP

I'm thinking about picking up a white dial Explorer II and was wondering what your thoughts about this model. Pictures/comments/general help is welcomed. THANKS.

My everyday rolex, got the date, love the white face, use the secodn time zone, very comfortable, and the best is that I get to wear a rolex all day long and It doesn't attract attention at all.

It's a great watch. If you are someone who collects black faced watches, it will add some freshness and variety. The Polar is a very good looking watch. The ExpyII design is very sleek, can be worn with anything (versatile) and resists scratches and dings like a tank.

I think it's the most underrated Rolex model out there. It was also the first Rolex that caught my eye many years ago, so I'm glad I have it on my wrist. Well I actually am wearing my Pilot today, so I will change into it when i get back home.... arghhhhhhhh

I'm seriously considering the white ExplorerII for my next Rolex after my Sub. I love the white face, but not sure about how I'll feel wearing it. Guess I'll have to try it on next time I stop at the AD. I belive they had a white there... If not, I can always get black

I think the Exp 2 suffers a little in terms of popularity for reasons I'm not quite sure of (if it were as popular as the Sub, GMT, Daytona and YM, I'm sure Rolex would long ago have offered TT and full gold versions) - possibly because the bezel doesn't rotate.

Certainly, the original Exp 2 with the large orange GMT hand and fixed bezel which was released in the 1970s did not sell well and had to be discontinued after a few years (though the resultant rarity factor means that it sells for large premiums in the secondhand and auction markets today).

Personally, I think it's a great watch, very handsome in either white or black. You don't see that many around in the wild, which adds to its appeal.

Rolex guy,

I've been considering the EXP II polar myself. I'm also wondering if anyone what's the best price I could get on a new one. If you get it post pics and
let us know if you got a good deal.

The Explorer II really looks good in a jubilee bracelet, especially with the white dial version. Definitely gives it more of a dressy look. I personally think that it looks a little better than a GMT Master with the Jubilee bracelet.

I personally love my Explorer II and every second that I've owned it.

Just wished that there are more watch enthusiasts out there that could spot it in the wild.

THANKS for all of your thoughts and opinions. I'm leaning towards getting it! I don't need it but I think it will be a fantastic addition to the collection.
Thanks.

That's awesome. Love the pics. What's nice about this forum is that you get good, honest opinions. What's bad about this forum is that you want more WATCHES!!!!!
