Oysterflex vs RubberB
Hi All,
Looking for anyone with experience with both the Oysterflex & RubberB. I would just like to get somebody's insight on the overall differences between the two in terms of look, feel, and overall experience (my standard assumption is that the Oysterflex is better). Thanks in advance! |

Oysterflex is factory Rolex and RubberB is aftermarket so I would always side with OEM

Yes, I assume the OEM is better as well. However, just wanted someone's opinion on how the feel is since it is comprised of a titanium and nickel-alloy blade clad in black elastomer versus only high-quality "vulcanized rubber" in the RubberB. |

The biggest difference I noted was the OF seems to "breath" better because of the design lifting it up off the wrist better.

Rubber B came first, Oysterflex soon after. The biggest difference would be that Rubber B connects to the case without gaps as Oysterflex doesn't. Another would be that the rubber b is more comfortable as it does not have a metal (titanium) piece at the core that would restrict flexibility. I have experience with both and they share traits in regards to quality of the materials. Not Rolex OEM obviously but same or I would dare say better executed.

Oysterflex is a titanium blade that’s coated with rubber and RubberB is pure rubber. I love RubberB but it you have a choice I would definitely go with Oysterflex.

Rubber B is exactly that, rubber. If it cracks or splits at the stress points, it's gone.

Oyster flex is Titanium clad with rubber.
How can you compare such a perfectly engineered Rolex strap with an ordinary stamped cheap piece of rubber is beyond me

Ignorant comment would be an understatement. The engineering on this Rubber B/Roger Dubuis oem strap alone runs laps around Oysterflex.

OF is much nicer and stronger -- feels better on the wrist. RB is still nice, but it's not OF.

I don't have any experience with Rubber B, but I have an oysterflex, and have some Breitling rubber straps, which are considered to be pretty good. The Breitlings are good, but going back to the OF you realize how great it is.

Exactly what happened to my Rubberb, the rubber holding the clasp, on that model, is very thin, split and my watch fell off. Rubber is good for looks but I will never again expect it to be durable for everyday go everywhere use. Rubber is not titanium. I would have much more confidence in the rubber buckle design. I think the Vulcan brand reinforces some points with steel, but not positive.

You can't get that type of quality Rubberb for your Rolex
