There is a method where the screw link that is attached to the bracelet is removed via the attaching rivet.
This method eliminates the "step" typically associated with taking out a permanent link. It also eliminates actually pulling apart a link, since it is simply unscrewed. It is not as common because it involves grinding out and replacing a rivet. This would have to be done again to replace it. But it does make for the cleanest look and is virtually undetectable - until you need to add a link back..
