Question about serial no. alignment

Do you have experience of misalignment of serial no.?

For example in below picture, the 1st set set, the “5” is not horizontal align with others.
Do you think the first set of serial no. is suspicious?

Thanks for you help and comments.

No expert here but the letters look off also.

Crooked, off center, not consistently spaced horizontal bars in letter portions, you name it, it all looks bad, really bad, hand-engraved?

I've seen genuine serial numbers that look almost hand-etched on vintage pieces.

Rolex hadn't figured out the tech back in the day, and some of the older ones look really sloppy but are totally genuine. It's not necessarily an alarm bell.

Totally, totally normal. No two vintage Rolexes will have number engravings that look exactly the same with the exact same alignment, especially when years apart.

The modern mentality of everything perfectly done and perfectly matching doesn't apply on vintage Rolexes.

It would be more concerning to have perfect, uniformly aligned engravings on a vintage piece.

These, at the time, were "just" serial numbers, nobody cared about them.

Used for warranty and COSC, period.

The poor quality or sloppy case engravings were caused by the attributes of the pantograph engraving machine and/or how steady of a hand the engraver had utilizing the machine. It was a rather crude engraving machine used back then.

There are even some engravings where the engraver's hand "slipped" and a large scratch is seen coming out of a number!
