Thanks for asking, Jen......appreciate your concern along with the other members too!!

Good news is that he's gained back 7 lbs. since he started Prednisone a couple of weeks ago. His bleeding has stopped and his bowels are under control now.

He is more energetic than ever before, attends school and has begun to play light games. His appetite is good while his poor mother slaves away in the kitchen preparing special dietary foods only for him......loaded with almonds, honey and other goodies which he can tolerate.

So it's all looking good for now at least. Not sure what the outcome will be after the steroid therapy is stopped down the line.

Shall keep you updated. Once again, many thanks to all of you who have shown so much interest, showered so much love and also for all your prayers, good thoughts and words. All this means a helluva lot to me and the rest of my family.

Best wishes to all - JJ

Any foods that he's allergic to.....example, he's highly lactose intolerant along with several other foods like tomatoes, sesame seeds, etc.

Through trial and error, we've managed to narrow it down to what he can really tolerate without bringing the house down!!

That's a relif to hear JJ. I am glad to hear your grandson is gaining his lost weight back, and getting the energy back. How is Ronan's sprit holding up? Its amazing how when a child falls ill how resillient they are to bounce back isn't it? How are his parents and the rest of the family holding up? I was wondering JJ, do you know how long he will have to be on the prednisone? After my brothers 1st heart transplant he took it for quite a while and it resulted in weight gain, and facial puffiness(I guess those are the common side effects right?). He does not take it currently as it was switched to another drug that has the similar effect to prednisone but not the side effects, witch worked out very well for him in the long run. Again thats great to hear about Ronan, and the thoughts and prayers of Bebe and I are with Ronan and your family. Thanks for the update Sir

JJ, did I mention I am a good cook? My passport says I am single when I leave the States. Good to hear that things are headed down the right path. Keep up the research and press the Doctors for continued positive results. Most of all, give Ronan a big ole' HUG from us all. Did I mention I can cook?

JJ, I currently take Medrol which is a steroid but doesn't have all the bad side affects that prednisone has. It's a bit more expensive but well worth it!!!

Well, Dan....thanks for asking. Ronan's energy is certainly back. There is a puffiness, but only very slight and hardly noticeable.

The Prednisone goes on for 8~10 weeks and is tapering off every week. He certainly LOOKS much better than he was a few weeks ago.

Thanks everybody for your good wishes and concern.....truly appreciated.

Cheers - JJ
