Yes, I share your vision.
Also, the price of certain pieces greatly exceed the real value of the object (exceeded in terms of quality, bracelet, buckle, case, etc.). Add to that the fairly high risk of having parts changed by repair or service. You really (very) well have to know it, and I have neither the desire, the interest, or the passion. I live with my time, new purchase only...

I’m with you on this one!
Besides few vintage subs, those I like but would never buy, vintage does nor appeal to me. |

I absolutely LOVE vintage Daytonas. Vintage watches are all about provenance. Lots of work that goes into finding, checking everything out, discovering the stories behind the pieces etc.
It’s definitely not for everyone, and with the soaring prices, becoming harder and harder to justify deadly wear... |

Unless you bought it original, it’s just somebody’s old watch. Their scratches and your service problem.

I want my watches to tell my story.
I buy new and vintage isn’t really on my radar. I like to live in the present and look to the future. I’m fairly forward thinking from a life of working in tech |

Vintage is going to be a different hunt to acquire, and wear and the quality compared to new is of course different, but what a great hobby to be in to. Thousands of watches out there Rolex, and other brands to hunt for. I don't have the time or the expertise, to know what I am looking at but I applaud those who do go after it. Also wish I had a smaller wrist then I might be more motivated to learn, but I won't wear something below 39mm.
