Question for the Rolex pros

What is a 'Red' Sub? A friend of mine is looking to trade and I wanted to get 'schooled'. Thanks on advance!

Submariner 1680's from the late 60's to mid 70's where the Submariner script on the dial was inked in red instead of being white.

Here is a good website to read all about them.
