Submariner bracelet question

My watch fits good, but I think I'd like it a looser on my wrist. Is there a "perfect" or an "ideal" position for the spring load bar in the clasp? Or can it be at anyof the four openings for a good bracelet fit?

Thoughts from the experts??

You should use the position that gives you the best fit...

From an engineering perspective, I would feel uncomfortable with using the outermost hole because the lateral load would be entirely on the ends of the spring bar and the edge of the hole... a weak position.. If the bracelet is further into the clasp, then lateral loads will be shared by the sides of the bracelet against the inside of the clasp shoulder..

But, sometimes I over-think stuff............

Find what works best for you. On my other bracelets I usually try to center it in the adjustment holes and figure it out from there. I have the new easylink in my 78200 bracelet and that is the best thing since sliced bread. You can go from loose to tight in 2 seconds on the fly with no tools.

But how are the loads at the clasp anywhere near as strenuous as the loads at the watch. The clasp is pretty much static, no stress from the wrist bending. I think that the clasp endures less stress then the band to watch joint and the spring bar is shorter which should translate into a much less worrisome connection.

hey danny, if we ever meet up, ill let you play with the glidelock..... i think you might change your mind when i got my gmtiic i also thought that the band was the best thing ever but man i can only imagine the glidelock on the gmtiic, i think that would make the watch 10x better imo, imagine never having to use a spring bar tool to adjust the clasp anymore.
