Would this void Rolex warranty?

I purchased a pre owned Rolex watch from a forum member that was signed and dated by AD. The original name was blacked out and another name was written right above it.

I’ve check a few forums and people have mentioned the card follows the watch not the name, however does anyone know if the altered card voids warranty? I’m sure it is not a big deal. But I have never seen it before.

Generally an altered card would invalidate almost any warranty.

It's something to discuss with either Rolex or the AD if you need any warranty work.

Rolex is usually more concerned that the watch is not Gray Market, hence, the need to include the actual card. They may overlook the name block all together.

From the Rolex website:

“Can a name be changed on a guarantee card?”

The name of the original purchaser cannot be changed under any circumstances. Please contact the Official Rolex Retailer from which you purchased your Rolex watch for assistance.

As the warranty follows the watch it might be okay for an independent Rolex watchmaker to service the watch but if brought to the RSC with the warranty card, that might be an issue as questions will probably arise, as why was the original name was blanked out etc etc.

I am not too sure if RSC asks to see the warranty cards for service, but if not then you should be fine, just say you misplaced it in a move.

How bout just erase the name and say the owner removed it for privacy purposes prior to sale?
