NEW RubberB FINALLY in for my Daytona !!
So after picking up my WD Daytona several weeks back I've been in the mood to try out different straps, as I'm not the biggest fan of the PCLs on the bracelet.
I purchased both an everest leather strap, and a rubberb strap - to try and see which one I prefer, and see how the watch changes in feeling on both. If you are curious on my everest tan leather strap writeup, that can be found here. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=747198 It was surprisingly not a crowd favorite on here - BUT I really enjoyed wearing that strap for several days. NOW I received the Red RubberB Last night. Shipping took considerably long (close to a week), as they shipped it in a basic yellow envelope by UPS Ground. You would think the money you are paying for it, and the virtually no weight of the package they would speed it up getting that to you. Inside, it was packaged well. Install for some reason was a PITA with this one, even using the bergeon tool. Was much more difficult to lineup the pin on the RubberB then the everest strap. Partially because how the rubberB sits against the daytona (at a steep angle). Now I have had it on for close to a day - here are some more of my observations! * The color is great, the perfect shade of red. Goes very well against the case of the daytona. * Integration to the watch itself I would give an 8/10. Yes - it goes all the way to the case, but there is a gap between the edge of the strap and where the ceramic bezel starts. Probably a good 1-2mm. * The watch feels significantly sportier on this strap vs the leather everest OR the factory bracelet. Again also significantly lighter then bracelet as well, but for some reason feels a bit more top heavy then wearing this with the leather strap. * Comfort wise - I would put the leather everest leather strap at #1, RubberB at #2, and factory bracelet #3. Maybe it's because of where the adjustments also fall on this strap for me (tang buckle strap) - but the everest seems to sit and fit just a bit better. * As far as rubber goes - this is probably as good as its gonna get. Its a namebrand with great marketing, etc - so I get the higher prices charged - but it's something that would seem like would cost 1/10th at best of the prices charged. * I went with tang buckle on both the everest and the rubberb. Why? Because doing a lot of computer work during the day, the thinner profile against the back of my arm helps rest it better on the table, etc. It definitely looks better with the factory clasp - and I might order another at some point to try that option. * I really enjoy the rubber with this watch as it makes cleaning the watch a much bigger breeze vs leather. You can run it under water no issues without any damage to the strap. * Overall this strap is a keeper - as I will give it some time to see how it feels in all situations of daily wear. I do enjoy the sportier nature and look this strap gives it, while dressing down some of the bling of the OEM bracelet. * Between leather, rubber and original bracelet this watch FEELS the cheapest sitting on the rubber strap. Worn dressed up, meeting clients or on the town I would most likely prefer the Daytona on the original bracelet #1, and leather strap #2. As I haven't been going out much and majority of my day is casual wear, this isn't really a concern. * Might also try the everest rubber strap with the OEM buckle as a comparison next. Looking to hear your thoughts or your experience with straps on this watch! Side note - I've enjoyed the WD daytona , especially with variation in feel on all these straps so much I'm looking to pickup a BD one in the near future. Perfectly executed watch that can be had with so many personalities depending on the strap!!! |

Love the summer look!
If it makes you feel any better, my RubberB instillation was also a PITA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love the look of the red strap on your Panda! The contrast is amazing. Great job! I have a black Rubber-B but one that attaches to the OEM strap. Reading your writeup, I probably should've gone with the tang buckle and saved a lot of swapping out. Plus it'll help keep the clasp cleaner with all the desk diving and whatnot.

Yes that was in line with my thinking. When I'm ready to go back to bracelet I have less finagling to do, and this way the buckle is preserved (not that I'm overly concerned for that). I almost started thinking I should of went with buckle integration, for better looks, but gonna give it some time to fully decide. The greatest benefit is a slimmer profile on the back makes desk / computer work easier for me. Maybe if I pick up an additional clasp, would alter which route I go - and that's my plan if I do pick up another rubber strap of sorts. |

There are a lot of non OEM clasp options that I’ve found over the years. Keeps the “clasp look” without the extra hassle of moving the real one back and forth from rubber to bracelet every time you switch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Greetings from Cave Creek!
I’ve been on the waitlist for a Daytona for 2 years at an out of state dealer where I bought my sub. Hoping my time comes soon... did you source yours locally? |

I really like the contrast. I feel the watch looks best on the bracelet, but theres more personalization on the rubber and much less stress if youre going to wear it at work etc etc, I know exactly what you mean concerning the thin rubber under your wrist while typing at a computer and being at a desk most of the day. You are making this watch yours and finding ways to wear it more comfortably day to day, and i think thats great!

I think it's an interesting look, and, as is always the case with these forums, what matters is how you feel about it. I saw your post on the leather strap too, and I think I'll actually get myself one for my 126710BLRO. I recently got the 7825 tool and a black rubberB, and also found it to be a painful exercise to swap the strap for the OEM bracelet. It gives a lot sportier look, and I will definitely keep the Rubber B, but I imagine I'll swap back/forth quite a bit. I don't feel like the fit is 100% with the Rubber B, it's either a little bit too loose, or too tight. Oh well.
Originally, I had planned to get an Oysterflex, and I may still do that, but I would then have to find a clasp that will work, as I've understood the jubilee-clasp isn't compatible. That's also what made me buy the tang-buckle from RubberB, as ideally I would have preferred to wear my own clasp. |

I really like the look of the Daytona on the Rubber B strap. However, I do prefer the look of the clasp on the back.

Never tried the Rubber B, but recently I got the Everest black with buckle for my AK and I love the way it looks and feel. Also, two day delivery and easy to install if you take your time..
