Since he has 40% to work with I would not pay more than retail less 25% in this economy.

Well, it's 5:30 and no e-mail from AD (as promised). Think he's playing hard to get, or just spaced out?

DAMN IT, I just read 10 pages of this thread trying to find out if you purchases the watches... This is worse that the season finale to 24.
Good Luck, and please be sure to let us know how this saga ends!

PS: Personally, I would pass at anything less than 20% off and I would jump at anything over 25%.

I don't think you can get more than 10%, may be you can get more for the DSSD.

I'll stand by my original statment that an AD will not give you discounted figures through an e-mail.

The last thing an AD wants is to have that e-mail be sent to Rolex.

I hope you enjoy cliff hangers :) He took his time getting back to me in the first place; so this is not totally unexpected. As an established customer (I"ve bought three Rolexes and a pair of $4,000 earrings for my wife from him in the last 12 months) he would be silly not to at least get back to me. It isn't like I was low balling him or anything like that. I just chalk it up to him taking his time, making me sweat a little. Little does he know that I am not sweating. Well, let's see what tomorrow brings.

Thanks for reading all 180+ posts on this.

Karis, if he is motivated he knows where to find me. I am about 45 minutes away from his shop, and I'm not going to drive there and back just to show my mug to him. The ball is in his court. I appreciate your concern and enthusiasm.

Well, #1, he said he would. #2 he could tell me that if that was his concern. Silence doesn't generate sales usually. I think now-a-days, AD's can't afford to stand on ceremony. He doesn't know if I run hot and cold, or if I am thinking about other opportunities to blow 20G's on play toys. Time will tell, I guess.

Brian, don't think I'd realized you have done so much business with this guy. You obviously know him better than we do. I sure hope you hear back soon!

This is a fun cliff hanger, would you consider speaking to him on the telephone as opposed to emails?

This is ridiculous...just call and talk to them and find out what they are willing to do. Why let this drag on any longer?

Sit tight -- if he is so lukewarm that he won't reach out for over two days, then how good of a discount can you realistically expect.

I'd sit tight, and wait for him to get a little anxious and desparate.

Or the AD could be working a deal with someone else. I'm sure that he has other customers who would be interested in those three models.

He may not be necessarily trying to sell all three to someone else, but he may be selling them individually.

If I were the AD, I would be selling them off as quickly as possible for the most possible.

I would sit tight. If he doesn't call you by Monday or Tuesday, give him a ring, ask him if he crunched his numbers yet and let him know what you think is a fair discount for all three. If he matches it, great. If he doesn't, then go somewhere else. In this economy to sell off three watches in one transaction is a nice way to turn inventory fast.

I would call and make him an offer on ONE of the non-moving watches for 30% off list... just to get a feel... :)
