Question: why are all the bezels smooth please? Didn't they make fluted bezels in platinum?

If I had one I certainly would. It would also be my only watch as everything would need to be sold to afford one. I’ve thought about it many times and been close twice.......maybe time to think about it again.

I don’t. I recently noticed that I tend to wear my SS stuff the most (whether professionals or otherwise), then onto 2T stuff a bit less (usually a fluted or TOG DJ, maybe a bluesy), and then reserving the YG and platinum pieces to feel a little special. This doesn’t mean I have to be dressed up to wear the PM pieces, i just don’t want to “casualize” them in generic daily use when there are more plebeian models for that type of duty. Then again, I feel some pressure to be mindful of what I wear around staff.

Mine is my daily, along with my Garmin for banging around activities. Love the weight and low-ish key nature.

for the most part i can’t go more than 24 hours without wearing mine. i’m seriously considering selling off a lot and consolidating because i love it so much. it makes zero sense but man what a watch.

When I got mine I kept my 20 yo Explorer to go to the gym. I guess I don't have the stones to leave the platinum piece in the locker. Since, however, there's no gym now I haven't worn the Explorer since January. The platinum's my daily beater and it shows.

I’ve since traded my new DD40 WG meteorite for the PT motif dial since better for a daily. Best watch move I’ve made yet and wear it constantly! Love the smooth bezel and brighter color of the PT and slightly heavier weight. Think I’m done, as haven’t been searching for the next move since!

Hello all,
Hope everyone is doing well.
I’ve wanted to subscribe to this thread for quite some time but thought I’d do it once i’d acquired another grail piece- the 118206 DD in PT (K Serial).
After a rather lengthy search, I found a super example, full set (24links) with all the bells and whistles!
My wrists are pretty diminutive so the 36mm size is perfect for me. I’ve got to say, the absolute heft of the watch is something that I really enjoy. I also love the fact that it comes in such a ‘baller’ noble metal, yet is so understated.
I know some don’t care for the accoutrements that brands supply with the watch but I’m a sucker for a nice box, matching bits and pieces.
I’m wondering if there are any other K serial owners out there with the similar lacquered wooden box? Also, mine comes with a very ‘80’s type Rolex Filofax and I was wondering if there was ever a matching pen that came with it?
Anyway, take care all.
Al

Beautiful watches wish they did it with a fluted bezel though. I suppose that’s what distinguishes platinum from gold.
