Navy Seals
I’m thinking of turning into one of those crushing it type navy seal bodied day traders who say no to soy and chips and coffee and booze.
Is this good or bad? |

Navy Seals
I applaud and support this thought CJ.
Let’s start with slowing down on the booze friend The chips and coffee can remain a while longer |

Maybe keep the coffee (it has health benefits, reducing risk of Parkinson’s and dementia), and moderate the booze (can provide something to look forward to at the end of the day), and kick out the chips and soy. Sounds great!

I don’t know? Do I want to worry every day about what I eat and feel depressed about missing a workout day or having a carb? Probably feel guilty about spending time on a forum, too. Not to mention I’d get even better looking and I’d have to avoid even more women. This is a serious life decision. |

I think if you get into the groove with it, the gain will be worth the pain, and not even a home soft-serve machine will slow you down. Assuming you already have a decent baseline fitness level from outrunning lovedrunk women, Beatles-style.

Moderation is key, whether it's changing one's diet or exercising; simple changes are more likely to survive the test of time and willpower.

+1 The hardest dudes I know also go the hardest. They go the hardest at everything they do. If they are going to drink for the night they go HARD. Do they do that every night? Depends on which ones you’re talking to. When they hit the gym which most do daily if not twice daily they hit that harder than 99% of other gym goers. It’s a mind set with SEALS and other tier 1 special operations forces. Those guys put everything in to anything they’re doing. Granted that being said they also have for the most part incredible self control. You can’t get on a team if you’ve got bad credit. You want to change something in your life go hard at it. But don’t give up the things you like because then you’ll just die miserably. Dad bods are in right now. Embrace it and enjoy yourself. That’s how I live my life and I used to be the strongest guy any one I knew knew. Being jacked is over rated. Meal prep, gym x2 daily, supplements and just general thinking about what you need to do to maintain is a chore. If you’ve got a family, a full time job that doesn’t pay you to work out and generally enjoy being able to kick back trying to get hard and jacked is not a good avenue to go down. Do five pushups and twenty sit-ups. And then decide.
Oh, do them in twelve seconds. :-) |

I don't eat chips or soy or drink coffee or booze, but my body isn't ripped and I don't day-trade.
Life is good though. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Also the HGH, steroids and all the powdered drinks and the pesky chore of washing all those powershake jugs. The bottoms are impossible to get clean.
It’s so much to consider. |

Might be hormone imbalances. Low testosterone causes some mood swings at a certain age. Something to consider.

You must be remembering the old days of protein shakes, lol. I remember 20-30 years ago when those things couldn't even be mixed with a blender. They've come a long way! They actually mix easy now and leave practically nothing left in the container - sorry to ruin that excuse for ya

At the risk of playing it too straight for the facetious, George Costanza-ish tone of the question, I think if health is a consideration, then give a wide berth to protein shakes and other supplements, as that is not a regulated industry and there are contaminants (including heavy metals and, in many instances, traces of steroids) in the protein powders.
I think doing weights is a great idea for long-term health, no matter how one looks (the focus on appearance is a drawback imho). This article points to a recent study showing neurological benefits of pumping iron: https://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/hea...10-p53ze3.html |

I think the Navy Seals brand lost some value in the title.
