No date Sub

How long do you think I would have to wait to purchase a no date Sub in the UK from an AD?

Also has anyone ever seen them in an AD window, for immediate sale?

At least 12 months and there’s none in any AD windows. They’re all sold before they make it to the window.

Nothing in the windows. People have been quoted different time scales - few months to few years.

I was lucky and got allocated one within a month with no prior history.

8 months - year is realistic.

I waited 8 months for my non date from AD. Was not my first purchase from them and honestly expected quicker.

With rumours of a new submariner come the 1st September who knows what the future holds for a submariner wait.

Best of luck.

I bought one a year ago-waited less than 2 months from UK AD.
I had previously bought one Rolex from them in 2001.

There's no straightforward answer. It will depend on a number of factors including your purchase history, the demand from your chosen AD, and the amount of timepieces that AD is allocated by Rolex.

12 months ago I couldn't even get on a waitlist for either a date or no date version. A few purchases later (OP39, Explorer & womens OP26), and my wait was the time it takes to exchange a few text messages. This was during lock down however, so probably not the best example to compare to, but goes to show there's no set formula...

It's just a Sub; the other one is a Sub Date.

Purchased from the AD window in July 2012, but it was different times back then.
Good luck with the hunt.

The only sub I've seen recently was in WOS, Cardiff center and it was a full gold.... it was also the only sports watch in the window.

Totally fruitless for any attempt to teach folks the true I.D. Just too many people now calling it the Sub No Date to stamp it out.

And I agree -->

I waited for about 4 months. BTW: I think as a matter of forum etiquette, can we just forgive people for calling it a Sub No Date! I did that on my first “Hey I got one” post and the correction was such a downer. How about “good luck w/the watch!”

Right now is the time to get one if you can. Alot of people who were on the waitlist for a sub arent buying because of either COVID or they are waiting for the new sub to be announced in Sept. I would cold call every AD in your area and let them know that you are interested in a Sub. You might get lucky

I waited 1 month. I walked into my Rolex dealer in Kansas City where I purchased my first Rolex and looked at EMPTY cases...I also bought my wife’s wedding ring and a diamond necklace from there. They had a used Sub for sale and were charging a premium for it. I asked my AD to keep me in mind if they get a sub at anytime.

One month later, while living in GA, I got a call saying they had a ND sub and asked if I wanted it. I jumped all over it and he mailed it to me overnight so I wouldn’t have to pay tax on it.

So yes I have had a purchase history with them, but was very surprised when I got the call so quick. I recently told them to put me on the list for a Hulk or a GMT. So keeping my fingers crossed I get another call soon.

£700 premium on a no date is actually “good”
Today I saw one for £8995....a £2695 premium....yes that’s high but £700 I think is decent for the convenience.

Hi OP and everyone, long time lurker, first post.

I managed to get my ND Sub last May from an AD in London within 2 days and with no prior purchase history. Like many of us, I had spent many hours on the phone speaking to every AD within a 50 mile radius and trying to get onto their wait lists. During this arduous process I was quoted a wait time of between 12 months to 7 years (I wish I was joking about the 7 years).

I decided at that point that I needed to set myself apart from everyone else who was doing the same so I decided to visit some AD's in London, one of those being Harrods. I had arranged to meet an SA whom I had spoken to on the phone but when I arrived and he wasn't there and I introduced myself to the branch manager instead. We had a really good chat and I explained how this watch was my grail and that I had been saving solidly for 4 years to buy it (all true). We ended the conversation and he gave me his card and later that day I followed up with an email thanking him for his time.

2 days later I receive a call from the SA who I had intended to meet, informing me that my watch was ready to collect.

My advice OP would be to set yourself apart in whatever way you can so that you are the first person they think of when a Sub comes in (I appreciate that is a crazy concept when wanting to part with over £6k on a luxury item but such are the times unless you go grey).

Apologies for the long post and best of luck in your search OP. It is possible to get a Sub in a short time with a little effort and leg work.
