Gorgeous, congratulations

Think I'd be a bit nervous about wearing it daily - such a rare beauty

Cheers

Thats a magnificent watch you got there. I'm happy and jealous at the same time!!! I really do wish that Rolex would re-intorduce some vintage models, most particularly this one.

Imagine? A gorgeous new black maxi dial, with red SUBMARINER letters, ceramic bezel, glidelock and PCL's?? i really do hope.

Very nice photos, very nice watch, I too miss the acrylic sometimes. I do not miss polishing it once a week but they sure look cool…

Thanks,

I have one pic that is too big to post... It shows the grain of the silkscreen.

Maybe I'll cut the photo into pieces

I try to rotate through fast enough to keep them all happy

My old standbys understand that a new watch may need a little more luving

A sympathetic and careful refurb to what is simply "The Watch" - great stuff John.
One day...

Thank you all...

And very well said dkpw I believe the 1680 is "The watch"

I think I'm going to play with jpeg res to trim this one high def shot down to 1 meg, then photobucket will upload... It will be about as big as that one Alaska pic I did a month or two ago...

BUT you can see the silkscreen imprint of the tritium lume material on the hour markers. I thought at first it was "pock marks" of decaying tritium lume when looking at a lower magnification, but at this resolution you can see the weave like a screen or mesh. Please disregard all the dust, I thought I had wiped the 1680 clean.

Back in a few

John
