Could this be the rarest modern Rolex/Tudor ?
Hello fellow members,
I recently acquired a Tudor pelagos 42mm 2 liner Eta version. Reference 25500tn it had a pretty short run from 2012 to 2014. There seems to be 19 in Chrono24. Do you think this model is already under the radar of collectors hence there is only 19 on Chrono24? Or what do you guys think? All comments are appreciated. Thank you. If 19 is alot, then what do you say about the 600 steel ceramic Daytona's on chrono24? |

Not sure I follow your logic. Are you saying it is “rare” on chrono relative to Daytona’s? If so then sure, why not.
If you are asking is it truly rare, and yet right now I can pick from 19 of them...well there’s your answer |

Pretty common and nowhere near the "rarest modern Rolex/Tudor". The Black Bay black bezel ETA is much less common (and I still wouldn't describe it as rare). Neither is it "better than a Rolex" (your previous thread). Great watch, though, but I prefer the LHD version.

The demand just isn't there...at least not yet.

19 can also mean they’re unpopular. there are ton of Panerai models that have less than 10 listings on Chrono24.

I don't think they're really rare, just that the demand for them isn't high...

If I had to make a guess, Ed Sheeran's Divide Tour Black Bay is the rarest modern Tudor. There are about 80 of them (according to his article on Hodinkee) which might just be the rarest modern Rolex SA watch.

There is something interesting about the watch, the movement is an ETA 2824. The watch is available in the current catalog as the 25600 TN with MSRP of $4575, so the ETA models are holding their value. If you look at the improvements to the movement, in the new model, I would be buying the new model over the old model. The new movement with 70 hour power reserve, silicon balance wheel and other improvements. The 25600TN is a great value, but having owned many ETA 2824 powered watches don't mind the 25500TN either.

You need John Mayer to call it rare in the next Talking Watches and then you'll be set.

Not rare nor that desirable across the board to Tudor Pelagos fans. The in-house movement is more desirable and it is reflected in the prices.

Have to agree. Big fan of the Pelagos, and really like the in house movement.
