Back in 1988 I was standing at an intersection a block from Venice Beach CA when a surfer dude rode up on his skateboard with a surfboard under his arm. There were about 4 of us standing waiting for the Walk light. Just as it changed to walk, a BMW made a quick right turn right at our toes and almost ran over one guy. He was livid and started swearing and shaking his fist at the Beemer as it sped off.

The surfer dude just said to him in his finest California Surfer Dude accent ...."acknowledge... and move on, dude" as he pushed off and rode off across the street with his long golden hair flowing behind him.
