Anyone else think this is a good looking watch?

This is a Universal Compax 18k bezel and pushers. UG 84 movement based on Lemania 1873 same as Moonwatch I believe and some Breitlings. It's 37mm wide. I have a Universal Polerouter which I got for my 21st birthday. I'm kinda hot on this one at $1450.00 US. Comes new with papers and Croc strap.

Universal Geneve is a very popular watch in the Far East and was quite a good seller in Hong Kong when I was there in the mid-90s.

For the price, I guess you can consider it a good buy; but for that money, I'd rather go the OMEGA way.

Cheers - JJ

Let me guess, you would prefer blued steel hands?

JJ: Universals hold up pretty well and are regarded by collectors especially the older Compax's. There is a guy writing a book and he is looking for pictures of watches for possible inclusion. Your "Orange munchkin" is already in there. There is a new forum for it at TZ.

It's not bad looking, but at first glance, it looks too much like a Paul Newman Daytona for my liking. I'm not overly fond of the Newman Daytona look.

I suppose its resemblance to the old Daytona could be a blessing or a curse, depending on how you look at it.
