Just so you guys are aware, this is exactly how they swab for influenza. It is not unique to COVID nor a new method.

Sadly, poor healthcare provider technique is what causes inaccurate results.

A very uncomfortable feeling - to the point that I pushed the doctor away! Actually had to watch my wife go through it first, which made it even worse. I suppose we're weak...

Tests came out negative though, so off we go tomorrow.

I had an emergency appendectomy this last weekend, which required a pre-op Covid test. I would have been surprised at how uncomfortable it was had the nurses not insisted on pinning my hands down in advance. Good weekend...good weekend.

Yeah, the current test is quite uncomfortable, I had one done a month ago at the Hospital for Special Surgery where they really know they’re doing. And it’s up there. So going back to work hopefully in a month, this is the aspect I’m not looking forward having done 3 times a week. I hope we’ll see soon approved saliva tests like in Europe/Germany...
