Case width; top to bottom lug to lug; dial width, etc?

Cute girl on the video but I can't stand these social media videos and if you forget the numbers you have to go through that torture all over again or write the numbers down. I'm hoping to read a comparison between the 114060 and the new 124060 like the one Larry made in 2010 with 5 digit Date and ND (Rolex WatchTech subforum) but I don't know if anyone would be kind enough to post.

That is not accurate. In the video the guy measured the bezel. The actual case is a tad larger.

40.02, the new one is 0.03 mm larger

It’s 40.5mm. The bezel measurement is the one I care about. The bezel is the widest part of the face of the watch at the 9/3 and a perfect circle (unlike the case). It’s what you see when you look top-down at the watch.

Case measurement is maybe most important for comfort, but from aesthetics the bezel is what you want to know

I agree, visuals make the size in your head and the bezel has the greatest impact. A .4 millimeter extra you may get from the case is negligible to me.

I prefer the thicker lugs, because they can take on more service polishings w/o wearing them to slim. Also the clasp on the new Sub is way over sized. Looks like they used a Sea-Dweller clasp to save$.

This whole 'new Sub' excitement is interesting. Sure, it looks a little bigger but now it's down to micro-caliper measurement? Wow, some folks are really, say...fastidious.

I've always just bought my Rolex watches because they're well designed and are of peerless construction. Plus, I like the look regardless of dimensions.

Hair splitting non-arguments about 0,1mm incremental differences ,,

The only real difference is the wider bracelet .That's going to make a difference of how it feels on the wrist .Wider and more weight towards the bracelet relative to case .

Large wristed ..a non issue.
Small wristed may have an issue with the broader bracelet .11 Series may be better suited .

I couldn’t agree more. When you need to pull out calipers and measure adjustments in less than .9 mm and then need confirmation because one guy says 40.5 another says 40.7 and another says 41.2....I mean really?
I know we’re a serious group and it’s what makes us wis special, but this isn’t about details, it just nitpicking for the sake of splitting atom size measurements that it seems obvious are mostly invisible to the eye which is why maybe people are measuring to begin with.

The Sub is bigger, period. Calipers aren’t going to soften the reality and it’ll be another decade at least before Rolex changes anything, enjoy the new watches and if 1mm or less really means something to your wrist, there are tens of thousands of the previous gen out there for purchase.

Good grief, why was anyone crying about the larger clasp! It seems to have scaled up as the bracelet width increased but it's not much larger otherwise.

Overall the new model has much better proportions throughout.
