Congrats on the watch OP. I have to agree with some of the other members when they said it’s all a matter of preference. I am a huge fan of the original LV and was hoping for the new release of the LV with the black dial and green bezel. It made it perfect since I like the 11 bracelet better and now we have the 12 bracelet and the black dial which IMO is the new classic.
None of this matters, what does is you enjoying your new watch in good health. Congrats again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

We have bought three over the years back in 2010 and owned it for a few weeks and was just happy to recover my outlay ,It did nothing for me . Five years Later I was offered another and bought it and again got my Money Back . My youngest Bagged a 2020 model this spring and put it straight on a jubilee This September the 1st I was offered the new version and in my opinion it’s perfect . Buy what you like and be happy that’s all that matters. |

Congrats! I personally feel the Kermit will stand the test of time better as far as monetary values go. But, only time will tell.

Congrats, but to answer your question... who cares. If you bought the watch bc you like it and plan to wear and enjoy it, then really that’s all that should matter to you.

This thread shows how the gray dealers end up on top. Since so many of you were offered Hulks by ADs it obviously means they were trying to unload it. Grays probably bought these in bundles with more desirable models and are now reaping the benefits since it’s been d/c’d.

Congrats OP! That is a lovely watch and one I hope to (somehow) get some day. I also like the new Sub with green bezel and the upgrades it comes with (tapered lugs and movement), but really like the green on green of the Hulk!

When the hype is more than the watch is time to move on.

Many buyers said the same with previous generations. Value and demand is a relative fickle situation. Arguably speaking the previous five digit LV was produced in less numbers and I would say is more desirable, to me at least. For now we don't know the production numbers for the new LV or when production will stop, but the 116610LV was produced for ten years, plenty of watches out there. If anyone wanted one they had ten years to get it, that is a lot of years. Whoever just decided now that they absolutely had to have this watch, they are likely an "investor" or have a severe case of FOMO, but I could be wrong. It's possible some sincere buyers exist. I owned it and don't regret selling it, for about seven years of it's production it sat in cases mostly unloved until social media and demand took a hold of it, now it's mostly popular because social media says it's cool. Beautiful watch for sure, but so is every other Rolex Submariner and GMT2. Rolex honestly makes some beautiful watches and any choice is an excellent choice, for me I prefer the basic ole Submariner no date in classic black. Wear in health. |
