Miami trip question

I am interested in a 41mm RO self winding in any color. Thought of stopping in the Miami AP to introduce and touch base. I’m sure they won’t have any in stock. I was going to ask to put on a waitlist.
Am I wasting my time? Any other way to approach this?
Thanks for helping a newbie

I hope you like Code 11.59 because that's what they have. Last weekend they had a single ROO. They said any SS RO are given to established customers. There are a couple different AP boutiques (at least two that I can think of). I wouldn't waste your vacation time. Just swing by if you happen to be near Brickell (city center) or Bal Harbor. I forget if there's one in the mid-town fashion district, but there's a ton of other boutiques there worth checking out if they're open.

So basically Grey is the only way to go if you want a SS RO?

Get lucky or build a purchase history in Miami. Boutiques will take your info, but I wouldn't expect a call without a purchase history.

Would a Royal Oak Diver be more readily accessible from a waitlist perspective?
Also would you know if only rubber straps fit an RO Diver? No AP metal bracelet is compatible?
Thanks

Won’t pretend to be an AP expert, so I’ll leave that to others here. I can just tell you that multiple boutiques have advised that AP production is usually 45k pieces a year, but will be around 30k this year because of COVID shut down. ROO seem to be more available than RO. Good luck.

I tried getting a code from Miami and they didn’t even have the color I wanted. So I would say very unlikely

Keep in mind most ADs seem to prefer selling hot pieces to locals. Out of towners don’t make great repeat customers for the obvious reason that they probably aren’t around to make multiple purchases. Getting vetted as a promising repeat customer, most of the time through purchase history, but also by where you live, occupation, etc. seems to move the needle. Selling you a SS RO when there are locals on a list that are more likely to be repeat customers doesn’t make much sense for them.

I was at the NY boutique last week and have no purchase history there. They were very friendly and stated wait time for a Diver could be as little as 1-2 months. Also, I believe a factory bracelet can be ordered for this model after purchase, but it will initially come on rubber.
