As long as the P-car is not a 996, then go 911 all day!

Doesn't sound like an either/or kind of question to me. Anyone kicking around this kind of idea has a few dollars in their pocket and will end up with both at some point. Today, I am taking the Daytona and buying the Porsche in a couple years. Gun to my head, Porsche, no question.

Gotta be both! I can't think of a better watch to pair with a 911.

I'd have a hard time choosing between them, but I'd probably end up in the drivers seat of the Porsche.

I love my watches but there aren’t many things on earth that give me the feeling of sheer joy as my GT3 at 9k rpm

Scratch the itch. Get the 911 if he hasn't already done it.

Poll.....Porsche or Rolex

I’d go Platona over a weekend car. Never seen the point in weekend cars. If however its a choice of a Platona or a 911 as a daily driver, i’d go 911.

Of get a WG Daytona on OF AND a 996 4s (highly under-rated and a decent investment in my view).

Honestly you can daily drive the GT3 (weather permitting) - I primarily use it as a weekend fun car.

Thank you -

This poll won’t work for Singapore new from show room 911 costs 385k. That’s USD. so from where I am, definitely the Porsche

If bought right you will do OK. 996 prices have risen over the last 2 years.

The DW5600-BB is the only G Shock I like. The majority of them I agree, are fugly...

So the poll started out fairly even....but now 80% choose the Porsche. I’ll report back to my friend with the findings.
I’ve seen similar polls on here that have gone more towards a timepiece, but those were basically vehicle (non-specific) vs Rolex. I guess the Porsche 911 carries a bit more passion from enthusiasts here...even against the PT Daytona.

I also think that if you have other nice watches a Porsche will give you a lot more enjoyment if you don’t already own one.

Moreover - several Porsche’s will hold their value very well over time. Certain turbos, GT’s, cost the same now as they did 10 years ago.

every man should own a Porsche at some point in his life.

Preferably a 911 or Cayman/boxster.

I've got a .2 GT3 and don't think I'd like driving it everyday for long. The LWB seats are awesome, until you have to get in and out of them 6 times a day. The suspension beats you up if the roads aren't perfect, and we have terrible roads in the middle of Houston. Mine is Miami Blue with stripes and the attention is annoying. I do daily my air-cooled 911 when the weather is good (it's a Targa and the only time the top goes on is to wash it). I love the GT3, but I use it like I use my motorcycles, Sunday morning blasts of 200-300 miles of twisty country farm roads and driving it like I stole it. A regular 911 or a Turbo would be a better daily than a GT3.
