Fair price???? Need help.

Hello all.

Thanks to everyone here at the forum for the loads of info!!!!
I'm looking to buy a GMTIIc here at my local AD. He offers it to me at the MSRP of U$6820.00

In your opinion, is that a reasonable price or could I haggle a bit lower. I dont want to lose the chance to get it...
Many thanks.

You can definitely score a discount on a GMT IIc now, I'd be patient, they are not exactly rare. 5-10% is what I would expect, and I would try for more.

They are still pretty popular. I just paid MSRP for mine. I have heard of people getting 5-10% off however.

The times of paying sale price or above on the GMTIIC are gone, call it availability, depresion, not the new kid on the block anymore, etc.

Keep patience and negotiate to keep more of you hard earned coin!!!

Apparently it depends on where you live in the world.

Some members here say that they get a discount on SS models and "haggle" or negotiate for 5% on their watches.

I've looked around my area quite a bit, and I purchase occasionally and I don't see discounts on new SS models. I do see some discount on the TT models and non-professional models..

Good luck in your quest..........but if no-discount is a deal breaker for you, then you might not find one available in some locales.....

what means more to you a new GMT IIC right now or the $250 you "might" save by waiting quite a while?

I was recently able to get one from an AD in Oregon for $6275 with a 5 year warranty (2 years for Rolex, 3 from them). I think that it really depends on where you are located and what the market looks like.

Thanks to all for your replies!
I'm going to haggle for 10%. I don't think the economy is that well off, especially here in Nicaragua.
But I would still like to know from owners..... What was the best price you got on it????
(I apologize if this question is against forum rules...not sure)

Discounts are definitely feasible in So. California. Don't remember the exact price - I think on my GMTIIc I paid full MSRP but, it was my first and I was new to Rolex buying. Thanks to TRF - I have learned a lot. There is a lot of value in Toph's comments. Look at it and if the price is a deal breaker - wait until you have more, find a deal or travel to a different location. If you just want the thrill of getting a discount - give it your best shot at your AD - it is good to have a relationship anyway IMO. you never know... Or pay full list and just enjoy it. That is an amazing watch and you will love it everytime you wear it. Don't buy on fear of losing the opportunity. I think this watch will be around awhile.

I got 5% off mine a year ago and it was the first one my AD received. You should get a discount. Stopped by a local AD in central Pa today and they had two SS GMT IIC's in the case as well as two black Milgauss and one white Milguass (no GV though).

My AD told me 8% discount only. But for some reason I have a feeling they'd accept anywhere between 12% ~ 18%. The supply has become very healthy and the AD's will do whatever they can to move the watches before it becomes old stock.
