Omega is discontinuing the current Speedy Pro and coming out with a new model, possibly announcing it tomorrow. If you want the current one, get it now. If you want the new one, I would wait a while because discounts will increase as time goes on. Personally, I would get the current one.

Ideally, find a small, independent local dealer that carries both Omega and Rolex, although this may be difficult. Start with the Omegas and get on the list for the Rolexes. After getting the two Omegas, you may find yourself not wanting some of the Rolexes.

As far as what else should be on your list, if you want a dress watch, I would consider a JLC Reverso.
