I have a feeling this will be fairly one sided. The 214270 is far superior and one of the best daily wearers.

To be honest, neither.
I prefer the latest Exp1. It is my current daily wearer. I would go with a classic Speedy Pro, if you’re going for an Omega Chrono. If pressed to pick one, it would be the Explorer. |

I don't particularly like the combination of the art deco dial with the tachymeter bezel on the Omega, so i would go with the Explorer if i had to pick one. Much better all around watch.

Well, I have the Explorer and like Omega as a brand, but that reference does nothing for me.

I prefer a simple look, so out of those 2 I would pick the Explorer.

That's easy for me..the Explorer, although I´d prefer the newer model where the 3,6 and 9 are lumed. I've nothing against Omega, but that one does nothing for me...a far too cluttered dial and (for me) a quite useless tachymetre bezel. I pass on it!

I do like the looks of the Omega although I'm not a chrono or Expl fan. You can't go wrong with Rolex when your not sure.

Explorer in this case. Not a big fan of special edition watches.

Rolex because It’s way simpler, more elegant overall. Clean dial amazing bracelet.
I don’t like busy Dials, chronometers never attracted my eyes. bracelet is of the omega is one of the main reasons I don’t like the brand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If solely about looks...
The Omega looks dated to me, and not in a good way. The font is not appealing, the Olympic symbol is tacky, the '6' really irks me, and the hands are just odd. I really like Omega but I can't say I like that watch as it looks like a relatively modern watch that is trying to mimic an older model. If I had it, I feel like it would sit in a valet box and be worn once in a blue moon as more of a novelty. The Explorer, on the other hand, has a timeless look, it's something that could be worn every day, and it's something that matches with whatever the occasion is. To someone not familiar with the line, it's not clear if it was made yesterday or many years ago, and that will probably hold true in the future as well. The font is attractive, easy-to-read, and will age well. |

I have the Mark I, short hands and it is my go to watch. I like the Omega brand very much but am not much of a chrono or Speedmaster fan, so I vote for the Explorer.

Explorer.
A handful of other rolexes I’d choose over it though. A boatload of other omegas id choose over that one. |

Rolex. Why? Purely on looks. I cannot stand the Olympic rings on that Omega.

Neither to be honest.
Saw an Explorer in the case probably a year ago. Tried it on but it did not sing to me and I did not even bother to take a photo of it. But if I really have to make a choice, it will be the Rolex. The Omega dial looks really busy. |

I think they are two very different watches. I personally don't like the explorer but I would easily choose the explorer instead of the Omega.

The Rolex, in this case. I had an Olympic commemorative Speedmaster in the past. The novelty of it wore off pretty quickly. It was a cool watch, but the love didn’t last.
