Has the chromalight improved on the new Exp2?

“the new-generation explorer ii also benefits from an optimized chromalight display”

Presumably yes if they have noted that, or they wouldn't emphasise. Otherwise not. Not that anyone has been wishing for slightly better lume on the most recent models.

Snooze-fest for Rolex. What a disservice when they blew off the Explorer II’s 50th birthday :(

How is this relevant to the OP's question?

I suppose we will have to wait for an "in-the-metal" side-by-side comparison to know for sure.

At the same time, I wonder... With so few "enhancements" in the anniversary model, marketing had to come up with something to justify the "New" sticker too, right? ;-)

New sticker is only slightly higher, upgraded innards are more than enough to justify.

According to Rolex, the new enhanced chromalight is whiter during the day, brighter at night, and longer lasting.

Best,

My Explorer 2 is easy to read in the dark if your eyes have dark adapted. It's still bright enough to glow against the sheets in a dark room, 12 hours after sunset. The new one is brighter? I won't need to turn the lights on.

The optimised light is now powered by the planet Sun, a phenomenal breakthrough
