They feel totally different. Like what you thought a Rolex would feel like when you very first try one on, when new to the brand
This right here. I finally collected a WG Sub and literally my SS's have not left the safe. Once you wear a WG watch there is nothing that compares, maybe a platinum but never tried one on.

Only way I would not do this is you really did not like the dial but if you like the dial then this is a no brainer all day long.

I have to say I wear my gold bezel Daytona 116523 daily and have never scratched the bezel, all it needs is wrist awareness.
When I looked at many before buying I can only remember seeing one that had a scratch on the bezel other than very minor swirls, they’re nothing like as bad as is made out
I’ve also owned several Yacht Masters with platinum bezels and equally never had a scratch issue

I want to see the real watch first, from the picture, meteorite dial looks too busy for Daytona.

I think Meteorite dial looks best on WG GMT Pepsi, the dial looks unique and clean.

Same here. I wouldn't sell my 116500 for that.

I am not a fan of meteorite and would not be interested in any Rolex with this face. It's might make a nice countertop in my kitchen though....I'll look into that.

I'm sure the meteorite will be impossible to get. I wonder if they'll ever allow dial swaps at RSC on a 116509 or 115605...

Anyone who tells you that gold doesn't scratch/dent or damage much easier than SS is not paying attention or just hasn't put it to the test. I've got both in a few different models of watch by Rolex/Patek/IWC etc and you have to be very careful with gold. It's soft and it dents, dings and scratches so much easier than SS does. If you wear a Gold watch and you don't pay attention to what you are doing you will damage it quite easily. Been there and done that. There isn't much justification for WG or platinum to be honest but it's a bit like driving a stick shift sports car (I do that too). It's something you do despite the fact that it doesn't perform as well as an automatic because you like the way it feels when you engage with it even though it makes little sense these days from a practical standpoint.

Do you know if you polish the WG it'll turn slightly yellowish?
Also, they're much heavier on the wrist than SS.
There's a reason why SS models are worth 2-3x msrp.
They're very light & comfortable to wear.

If I could afford it, yes no question.

Cannot see past that abomination of an asymmetric case on the SS.

The WG case shape is perfect by comparison.

No. It won’t. Unplated WG (as all Rolex WG watches are) is the same all the way through. As is all WG jewellery.

Honestly, the misinformation being spread on here recently as “fact” is doing my head in.

IMO it would be crazy to keep a 116500LN if you could trade in on a 116509 in an even swap. Even a blueberry sunburst dial 116509. If you had to add cash a little less crazy to pass on.

WG imo has more warmth on the wrist. Love how under certain lighting it looks like honey gold. Platinum just feels cold, though very awesome assuming you don't mind all that extra weight. The ice blue dials though I feel or love or hate.

Agreed. Very exaggerated in being scratch magnets. Also, a number of polishes are able before noticing wear on the bezel markings and less depth. Last, pretty cheap to replace a polished bezel, even in PM compared to Ceramic.

That full PM daytona is a sick watch. I wouldnt sell my daytona for it. But if i could afford it and could imagine it getting a good amount of wrist time I'd jump in. Maybe after i buy it my 116500LN gets less wrist time and i decide to sell it.... maybe not. Would suck to sell the SS only to regret it cause the WG doesnt get much wrist time for whatever reason. I'd be super conscious of that WG bezel lol.
