it means absolutely nothing.

i guarantee you if i were a big time celebrity and wanted to get a watch from a particular AD they would make it happen so long as i was part of their social media story.

An “Allocation Piece” is a model that cannot be ordered ... it is allocated to the AD (not the customer). Previously, only a piece like a SS Daytona was considered an allocation piece. Now, all of the steel sports and stainless DJ41s are allocation pieces.

ADs have no idea when they will receive an allocation piece. They just show up in a shipment of inventory. For example, “oh look, e we received a black Daytona and a Batman in the order this month.”

Normally, allocation pieces are offered to prized clients as a gesture of gratitude for a strong working relationship. Hence, the “waiting list.”

Other pieces like a DJ36 can be ordered by the client and are not “allocation pieces.”

If they have 5 watches in case there is no need for celebrity endorsement. Friend in rocking roll hall of fame get no special treatment. Most ad don't have enough to sell. Having extra 50 calls to answer or 100 to push away are not what they would want. Ad need more watches not more customers at this time

Disagree. ADs will be more than happy to have extra foot traffic in their stores, even if that foot traffic is looking for Rolex. On the way to/from the empty Rolex cases, they’ll still have to pass by the Omega/Tudor/IWC/JLC/Cartier/Patek/VC/etc. cases and may just see something they like.
