Australian shipping

Anyone have experience buying a day date and getting it sent to Australia? I bought a datejust from Joel Hernandez last October and the exchange fees and custom fees were crazy. 11ishK Australian for the watch ended up being 14k with customs and exchange fees. Would have been cheaper to find one local. Thanks in advance

I’ve often wondered what the fees would like like. I know you would pay 10% GST.
What are the exchange fees you mention?

The bank hit me with extra fees on top of exchange rate for it being over 10k. Probably wouldn't have bought the watch if I knew about that one lol. Tempted to just fly over to the states and buy in person with cash from DavidSW

I think the banks foreign transaction fees would still be cheaper than paying for 2 weeks of hotel quarantine when you get home

Pics of your watch are needed!

Wear it in my fish and chip shop everyday lol. Got it as a 10 year present to myself for working full-time for a decade haha. Hard to find the 116234 with super jubilee with box and papers here so had to go eBay.

Sounds about right. When I sold items to Australians in the past, customers would often bulk at shipping costs & local import tariffs. Then they realized the extra fees weren’t my fault.

Haha thanks mate! If I sell more dim sims I can buy a meteorite day date in white gold. Probably not from AD though, they told me 2 years wait.

This is why I’m tempted to fly over and just buy in person when COVID is over lol
