My very very young friend who is in college and works part time through the summer just bought a new Submariner from an AD. I will let him know he can drop out as he is now rich and successful. [/QUOTE]
Your very very young friend might not be rich, but he's doing something right if he get a new Sub from an AD. I'm not rich, otherwise I would be buying PP or VC. I'm comfortable, no debt, and drive a $45k car. Definitely not the $100k+ cars that some of the other members drive. When I was a kid, I fell for the Rolex aura, that owning one was special, and that it meant you achieved something special. As I've gotten older, I don't fall for all the hype as much, but a part of me still believes that owning a Rolex is something special. My dad wore a replica Rolex for most of his adult life. When I was a kid I thought it was genuine. When I found out it was fake, that was the moment I knew how special the brand was. I said one day I would own one cause that's what my dad inspired to have, but couldn't cause he had to provide for a family of 7. I kept my dad's replica after his death, it sits in my dresser with some of my other watches. Sorry for the rant ... I miss my dad.
