A VERY tough decision. For me, the DSSD is just too big, so I went for the SD43. However, if the size wasn't an issue for the JC, I truly adore that blue fade to black dial.

I still vote SD43, but it's very close.

For multiple watch owners the JC make sense but for a one diver or one watch wearer the SD43 is the way to go because of its case thickness.someone on this forum had posted a picture of the Sd43, JC and a Sub that show the thickness of the case in one shot. the difference between the SD43 - Sub vs the JC is huge while the SD43 looks almost as slim as the Sub. Unfortunately I forgot in which thread that picture is.

The SD43 is nice and probably fits better but it looks like a Submariner which the rest of the world already owns, the JC DSSD is far more unique and the graduated dial a thing of sublime beauty so I would go with that.

I've owned both and found the JC was too tall and felt like a brick on my wrist. The sd43 is way easier to wear for me personally.

And BTW, for people who believe the JC is too huge for their wrists, I have very thin wrists and the two watches I wear the most are my Panerai 104 and this JC DSSD. They have never seemed too big to me, it’s just what you get used to I guess?!

DSSD is definitely a cool piece and technically impressive. So is the SD43. Personally, I'd go with 43, it's the nicest diver Rolex has ever made imo. Just too big for my wrists, unfortunately.

I would go for the JC personally, I love the appearance of the dial the and the sporty feel you get. the 43 is very classy though.

I own(ed) both. I did not like the way the Cameron sat on my wrist, so changed the bracelet to a blue Everest strap which made it feel better on the wrist.

When visiting Shanghai, an AD there offered me $14.9 usd for the Cameron and on my return trip I brought him the box and papers, etc.

I kept the SD 43 because of fit and classic design image.

2 centz !

[QUOTE=Gerry62;10214246]Deepsea

because the sd43 reminds me of the usual Submariner
the DeepSea is the ultimate expression of Diver ...... stunning watch, The Last Frontier .... says Rolex
for me it is superior

Any details on the book? I had no idea that existed and just got a JC!

That’s because the SD43 -is- a submariner. It’s the update they’re too afraid to replace the old 40 with.

So they bought the watch only @ $14.9k? or was bringing back box and paper "promised"?
anyhow, you made out well! Love the GMT shot on the cockpit too.

Biased opinion from me, I’d go for the JC for the dial alone.

I really like the SD43 and if I were to add one and even though it’s not everyone’s cup to tea if go TT.

I have had both at same time and after looking at them next to each other - let 43 go. Size proportions are better at 43, but black dial is a bit boring comparing to gradient beauty in JC

SD43 because it’s slightly smaller and doesn’t have giant text around the rehaut.

I own the JC. I do think the SD43 is too much like a sub. So I chose to get the JC considering I have 2 Subs.
