Not a Rolex, but you get the idea.

I never react negatively to anyone sporting a Rolex. They are getting enjoyment from wearing it.

Is not about how you feel: too
big on them or too blingy. It’s their watch their choose, not yours.

My Datejust 36 (smooth bezel/oyster bracelet) is much more "blingy" and gets way more glances then my 6 digit Sub.

I always thought Datejusts on a jubilee with a fluted bezel are way more blingy than Submariners too, and I don’t mean that in a negative way. I love DJs.

The OP mentioned Skydwellers. They’re even bigger than the Submariner and definitely more blingy.

But I suppose a Submariner does look big and blingy on all the dogs walking around with them on. LOL!

For the same reason I love my 14060M so much. A true classic!

OP...such an amazing story...if you don't mind, do you still have that timepiece that you're beautiful cat is wearing, the all stainless steel 6-digit reference?

Yes or no, be honest please.

"Humble king", I like that! I also prefer the older 5-digits (my everyday is a 14060), but I´d have a hard time telling the difference on someone's wrist unless I got really close to them...

My OP tried to "rule" the Adirondacks while we were away. It humbly failed, as there were no other subjects. Gonna try again in July. Stay tuned.

It’s a very modern day weirdness that disagreeing with someone’s opinion now means you’re “triggered”.

Wear what you like. “Hype” or not. As long as you enjoy it who gives a toss what others think?

I know what you mean, OP: I always do a double take when I see a 4 or 5 digit reference!

Or was the OP triggered after seeing a 6 digit Submariner on “EVERYONE AND THEIR DOG?”

Oh absolutely, they are classic and fantastic models… but a sub, whether it’s six digit or a four, “blingy”
