Watch winder

Which way should I instruct the watch winder to operate for my DJ? Clockwise our counterclockwise? Or does the cal. 3135 wind in both directions?

Here is a reference for winding direction and number of turns per day for many types of watches (from Orbita) --> http://www.orbita.net/pages/17118.htm

Brilliant. Confirms what I learned through trial and error. Thank you so much for posting.

Most watch winders will turn one way, then stop and turn in the opposite direction.

Mine does about 7 minutes for CW & 7 minutes CCW, then stops for 3 hours, then repeates the CW & CCW turns.

Is a watch winder a must if you own multiple automatic watch?

Mine rotates both ways. I don't have it set for any order. Some people say you need a winder others think they are useless. Just your preference.

Yeah, I wouldn't use it. What's wrong in letting them rest?

From everything I read, the watch winder is only good if you have a watch with no QUICK SET DATE.

This means you will have to turn the minute hand many times before you can set the date correctly.

If you have such a watch and use it a few times a week, then a watch winder is great.

Else there is no real benefit.

Can anyone explain what the point of a watch winder is (other than the obvious)?

Erm, just read previous post, sorry!
