New mid-size Oyster bracelet swap with 2007 model?
My girl's 2007 mid-size never could be adjusted properly to her small wrists despite multiple attempts at more than one Rolex dealer. The clasp refuses to lie flush against the underside of her wrist, it juts up at the connection point, catches on things occasionally and opens up, slipping precariously off her wrist more than once.
I'm wondering if anyone knows if the new 2009 Oyster bracelet models w/new clasp, Easylink, etc. can be substituted for the more traditional bracelet on a mid-size. Any insight is appreciated. |

If she tries the watch on backwards (upside down, with the crown facing the elbow on left wrist) does it fit more flush? Sometimes this is a better fit, and you could simply reverse the bracelet. If not maybe they would just sell you a clasp?

Yes, we tried that, no better. The Rolex dealer said the bracelets can't be swapped but I've been told a lot of things in my time, like we all have, that aren't necessarily the case.

Have you tried haveing one of the permanent links removed on the 6 o'clock side..?
Most of the clasps will interchange with one another.....the problem is that no Authorized Rolex Dealer will do this for you.. For a different bracelet; to get a proper fit at the case, you would need another bracelet that came from the same mid-size family, but there is no good reason why it should not fit..... if you could get one.
