Longest you've worn a watch?

There was recently a topic about the longest you've had a watch running, but, I'm curious... What's the longest you've worn a watch continuously, including sleeping, taking showers, etc. It still counts if you open the clasp to dry under the watch, but not if you actually remove your arm from the watch bracelet...

Under a day - I don't shower or sleep with my watch.

Probably about four hours for me... even on a regular day I take it off for a few minutes or fiddle with the clasp or something.

I've NEVER showered with a watch on. I'm just worried what the soap would do in the long run to the watch itself. I always wear a watch to sleep. So, if you don't count the shower, I'm ALWAYS wearing a watch !!

I have 5 nice watches and never wear one of them long enough to enter this thread's contest.

Sometimes I have to wonder if I should just rid myself of all but my favorite one.

I don't take my watches into the shower with me... so I would have to say the longest is when I am operating a Ultra Long Haul Flight... 20 Hours appox.

Months. Yes months. I've worn my SS Sub through tours in Afghanistan and Iraq (soon to be Afghanistan again). If I ever took it off it was merely to clean under it. With the exception of two service calls (and the aforementioned occasional cleaning) I have worn my Sub continuously for almost seven years. Sniff, sniff, when my SS Daytona (white) gets here, the Sub will get some well deserved time off. BTW, I wore a Seiko H558-5009 ("Arnie") from 1985 until 2002. I swore I would only replace it with a Sub. And so it was. And Yes, I still have the Arnie (and it's twin "backup"). Next goal? A WG Daytona Meteorite.

I've never counted, but I only take mine off to clean it, I wear it 24/7, shower, swim, sleep, work and play. There's no need to molly coddle a Sea Dweller....

I don't sleep or shower with mine. Also take it off if I'm doing some manual labor that might damage it, mainly working around the car where metal to metal contact would be likely. Sometimes just don't wear it because I don't give a hoot what time it is.

I never really kept track....but I know it has been years, sleep, shower, swim, and every other activity I used to to.

I personally have not worn any of my watches longer than a day.

But, I bought my mother a TT DateJust for her birthday in 1991. She had just survived cancer surgery and had scared our family to death.

A few year's ago (5-6) she called me in tears and said it had stopped running. I took her to the AD repair and she removed the watch under protest. The guy about dropped when he inspected it. There was so much soap in the clasp that it would hardly release. She told us she had never took the watch off. Not sure the exact time she wore it. Wish I would have had a camera.

She now has vowed to every 5 years taking it in for service. She will also not allow me to upgrade it.

In a similar situation. Usually swap watches during the day, so normally, say 10 hours. During the summer, at the lake, where you just jump in the lake to get clean, might have stretched it to a couple days, tops.

No idea. Possibly weeks before I even look under the bracelet to see what's living there. Then I just scrape the goop out and put it back on. It's like it has it's own little ecosystem! I know it's been at least two weeks since it was last off and, YES, I shower and sleep with it.

I guess my answer would be 42 hours. That's 17 hours (the number of hours I wear it everyday before taking it off to go to bed) + 8 hours of sleep + another 17 hours.

This is for the couple of times that I forgot to take it off before I went to bed or fell asleep through the night with it still on my wrist, and ended up wearing it for 2 days in a row.

Approximately 2 weeks during a jungle survival training many years back.. Hardly sleep and eat.... sorry no shower, only occasional splash from river.... Looking at watch to countdown the hours very very often then....

Around 7 days and nights when on a military training exercise when I was 18. But it wasn't a Rolex (I was too young to afford one then), it was a Seiko.
