Hi Nadim, the SS Submariner is the classic Rolex and a Rolex icon! If i was you and i would go for it, i had the TT blue version of the submariner but had to sell it.

That price sounds right, but always ask for a discount im sure you can get a good deal on the Sub!

Good luck

Rolex must have had a price jump. Last June I got my Sub LV MSRP at that time was 6700.00. I asked for 20% off and got it. So after Cad tax it cost me a little over 6000.00. So yes as the person above said get a discount.

I thought I should also add. Take your time. I first bought an air-king. It is still my favorite. The sub your looking at has hollow links and a flip lock clasp. Research it well before dropping all that hard earned money.

The Submariner is a very popular Rolex model and a great all around watch, I am sure you will enjoy it. Best of luck.

Thought you might ask. The submariner with the exception of the new model with the ceramic bezel has hollow middle links and a flimsy sheet medal clasp. It is debatable why Rolex would manufacture this on the watch. Most owners seem to look past it as nobody seems to talk of it much. Some say it was developed for various reasons to let dirt move in and out easy from the links so it promotes less grinding for example but this still does not explain the flimsy sheet medal clasp?

Search it and be well informed first. I had no idea when I picked up my sub. I only assumed because it was Rolex that it would be as solid as my new version air-king.

With the Canadian dollar gaining the way it is, it might be a good idea to look south to the US for one. You could save a nice chunk of change.

Don't forget that the 16610 is a 20 year old watch, they haven't made any significant upgrades in that time, there's no way it can compare to a modern design, which is why I think that the new version is desperately needed.

The 16610 is a classic, iconic Rolex. You should be able to get at least 15% off retail, due to the current economic situation.

It's as equally at home under a Tuxedo as with a t-shirt and jeans, it's a very versatile watch

Go get it. You willll cherish this watch the rest of your life! I would ask for 20%, and if you dont get 12%-15% off, go to another AD. Good luck!

Cheers!

I see you are still considering this watch. Here is a pic of my LV sub. Have you considered other Rolex watches?

i'd say go for the 16610, it is really a rolex classic. I'm not a fan of the supercase and maxi dial for the new subs (though i'd appreciate the solid links and upgraded clasp).

go for at least 15% disc from an AD.

It's a very common sight but a very safe bet. Goes with absolutely anything.

Like I said I got 20% off mine. I would consider selling mine to you. I am so up in the air over it. I enjoy my 34 mm much more unlike most guys my size or most guys period for that matter. I would want of course the safest way possible to ship this. Does anyone on this fourm have advice for selling watches? How do I ensure he gets the watch and I get paid for it. Let me know your thought about the watch. I used it on and off for almost a year. It has a few light scratches on the buckle but this happens almost as soon as you wear it at work if you work at a desk like I do most of the time.

Mate the 16610 Sub Date sells in Japan for US$4500. BNIB from a Grey Dealer.

At the AD its US$5580.

So I guess your Canadian price is pretty close.

Get the Sub - its the Sherman Tank of Rolex watches.
