Sending a watch for service by courier

Has anyone ever sent their watch in for service via a courier like DHL? Is it even possible to do so? I'm looking to send it in for service at Rolex London. Thanks

Call RSC London and ask how they prefer it be sent to them. They should have requirements for incoming shipments.

depending on your distance I'd take it to them in person, make a day of it lots to see and do... call me possessive but I wouldn't trust any courier with what I've worked long and hard for.

In the US, they only accept USPS Registered, Insured.
If you call the RSC in NYC for example they will ship you a box and instructions.
I assume they do this in Europe also.

I just shipped a watch to Paris for repair from NYC. I initially went to the FedEx in the diamond district of NYC to ship. They told me that the highest declared value they can accept is $1,000. However, around the corner from 47th St there is a building (580 Fifth Avenue) with several high-value shippers. I chose Brinks Global Services and my package was successfully delivered today (through FedEx via Brinks). These high value shippers also know how to navigate customs when shipping to another country. Depending on where you are in Europe, and if you are in a major city, there is likely to be someone like Brinks who can handle your shipment. A big jeweler in your city should be able to point you in the right direction.

Rolex has begun to use FEDEX in US. That’s how NY RSC shipped back a watch I had them service earlier this year.

Other countries don’t have USPS Registered - but there anyone sending to London RSC should call ahead and find out what they want the owner to use.

This is similar to shipping watches from the US to Canada using USPS, and probably others. The same restriction is buried in the T&C, but most people here just blissfully ignore it. The good news is that the vast majority of shipments arrive without problem. The bad news is that someone will be left holding an expensive bag when there is a problem. They will happily sell you the insurance (and any other non-applicable service) but when it comes down to it, you really don't have any recourse.

Obviously, people ship watches all over the place, so just do your due diligence and check everything, and then pay the piper.

Good afternoon all, a quick question. How do i go about posting an offer for insured watch delivery? We have our own policy that covers them against loss or damage, up to £10000 and we ship through DHL and UPS. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
