Bracelet swap to be allowed!

My AD contacted me today to confirm that Rolex will let me order the oyster bracelet for my Batgirl but they said it would be a few months before it is allowed.

It wouldn’t at all surprise me if you had to pay full retail for the new bracelet and hand your old one in.

Yep, I tried to get a super jubilee bracelet that fits the 36mm DJ 116200 so I could use it on my Daytona 116520.

My AD reached out to Rolex and gave me a quote ($1600~) but I would have to surrender my old bracelet.

Since I didn’t have a 36mm DJ, nor a bracelet to send back, I couldn’t buy it.

So my guess is: You can SWAP your Jubilee for an Oyster, but you can’t keep both.

I could be wrong, I thought I read that if you bought a DJ41 from a dealer but wanted the opposite bracelet, you could keep both but had to pay for the 2nd one.

I would deem it totally ridiculous for Rolex to not allow you to buy an oyster if its an option.
And allow you to keep the jubilee it came on.

that is exactly what i've expected Rolex would do. if you want to change bractlet, you have to buy a new watch.

My AD (rolex botique) told me yesterday I can freely order bracelets. He quoted ~$2100 for the Jubilee for my DJ36. And I would get to keep my oyster. Time to arrive was ~4 weeks. Actually even told me I could change the dial on my DJ36 to the new blue patterned ones.

Beyond ridiculous if Rolex make you hand back the bracelet you’ve already paid for. What a joke, if you buy a new car and want to upgrade the alloys they don’t make you give the old ones back. Why do we put up with this BS?!

Yep, I’ve seen it happen first hand with a solid gold bracelet. Had to return the old one at the time of receiving the new one.

I think this will be the case as it has been released with both bracelets, a dial swap would be different and more individual and thus they have the return policy.

Surely the only thing Rolex should be doing here is ask for a price difference, or refund the difference depending on the swap happening.

Most likely a swap. I recall getting a submariner serviced at the Rolex service Center in New York City the band was quite stressed and I purchased new one rsc kept my old one. and gave me $750 towards the new one.

My AD confirmed yesterday - the bracelet will be available without trading in your 'other' strap, and will fit all GMT variants - old or new. Only downside is, they were also told it could be up to 2 years before you can actually order one - as they are currently only manufacturing enough bracelets for complete watches.

I’ve been following this, and I seem to be getting mixed messaging.

My AD originally told me sometime in late Spring 2022 we could order them.

I called Rolex Dallas to ask, and they said they think maybe around the. They would, but not for sure. This was a month or so ago.

Monday, I asked my AD what would happen if they just put an order in? Would Rolex decline it? The SA said he’d check, and then came back with saying they would only do a bracelet swap, where they take my jubilee. He seemed under the impression that now they didn’t plan to allow customers to keep both bracelets.

Which is it ultimately? Anyone had recent luck with getting the bracelet ordered? If so, would you please PM me your AD’s info so I may reach out soon? Thanks!

A couple of years ago I purchased a Jubilee bracelet for my DJ41 which came with an Oyster.

Had both bands for awhile...no problem with my AD who I ordered it through.
