If those numbers are accurate, I would do it.

I don’t understand the hype concept. Seems to there are more and more popular Rolex models. Are they popular because people posting say they are or are there more folks interested in watches. I have a number that are popular models that I have owned for many years. None are in my collection because of Instagram or the posting we see on this website.
I simply like what I like. |

Never occurred to me that the blue would be anything but painted. Very interesting indeed. |

I agree when the platinum 40mm w/smooth bezel is the reference point. However, back when the DD36 was available with an Oyster bracelet, the domed bezel worked quite well for a "modern" rendition of one of the most classic watches of all times.

Ok, now I think I understand the confusion: previously there were versions where all three hands were blue, then those went away, and now the blue serving hand has returned. |

I think that anyone who has that kind of money needs no help deciding what kind of watch to buy.

Hey guys. I’ve thought about it a lot and I appreciate your input. I’ve decided to keep the RG DD, as it fills a niche in the collection. It really is an incredible dial and if I want to re-acquire, it will be at a much higher price point. I plan on acquiring the Platinum Day Date too, but independently of the current collection. Thanks again for helping me to think through it.

To trade RG DD Anniversary into a Platinum Day Date seems more to me like trading a hype piece to a super hype piece.

Now, if an AD made you a similar offer on a brand new one, that would be worth considering... But I'm not personally a fan of the RG/olive combo, so a platinum/ice blue (though I prefer dark blue/silver for this one) would be more aesthetically pleasing to me. |

What I don’t understand is why you would buy a watch a few months ago, keep the stickers on it and not even wear it. What’s the point ?
Anyway, I think you definitely made the right decision keeping the RG olive. Much nicer than the Pt in my eyes. Just hope you’re gonna take the damn stickers off it and wear the bugger now ;) |

I’m on the fence about the fluted bezel but that blue dial is incredible. Take the money and then figure out what you want. IMHO
